Christlike Attributes

This week we had mission tour and I wasn't as lucky as Kenzie to get someone who spoke English but it was still great! We had Elder Perroti - I think area 70, in mission tour. I understood about 3/4 of it! We talked about how to be a true disciple of Christ and what we need to do to become more like Christ. one quote I love is "we need to work for Christlike attributes, we need them to be interwoven into us." another thing is that we just can't have one, when we have one of the attributes, it leads to us gaining more and more we need to want to have them all and continue to grow them and become better!

This week I woke up Sunday morning with no to little voice... so that makes teaching other people really fun! our work has slowed down a lot we have to start cutting people from our list this week because they just aren't progressing, and it's sad... we have 8 investigators that are progressing but also at a stand, 4 of the 8 need to be married first. the others have finally gotten jobs or are not in the house when we schedule appointments... so that's frustrating!

We walk in part city and part country and depending on the day there are a lot of people out or none! We talk while we walk. We walk about, i would say, 10 miles a day the farthest we walk is about 35 min.

Its been a good week for me. I have been helping a lot more in lessons and it's great! I just need to understand fully now!!!

I love being here and I love that I'm continuing to grow and learn. I see progress every day and it's so great. I love you all so much.

It was the first time actually felt like a "real" missionary!

To start out I just want to say that I recognize that my attitude before I left for my mission had changed from what it was, I had a hard time with listening and being that always helpful person. so for that I am sorry!

As for this week, it has probably been the best week so far for me, this week we had a little amount of lessons the work is slowing down, people aren't letting us in, and some of the investigators we had have hit a slow point and want to progress but not on one thing - the law of chastity. we thought they were married but they aren't so we taught castidade (chastity) and they flat out told us no they wouldn't live by this commandment. and that's sad because they had a baptism date on the 24th.

This week I have been able to understand more - still not everything but more is better, we had a ward party (Festa Junina) and it's the best holiday because it's all about country and stuff!!! I have pictures of that night and when I figure out how to send them, you will see I'm definitely trying to love the people and give my all!!

I had the coolest experience so far, I was on splits with Sister Macedo, and we were teaching the Plan of Salvation, to J and J and it was the MOST spiritual experience, I was able to help with the whole lesson and I felt the spirit so strong, J said to me, because while I was teaching I was stumbling to get the words out, but she stopped me and said that she could understand exactly every word I was saying and she could feel the spirit. I cried... Sister Macedo almost cried and I think it was the first time actually felt like a "real" missionary (I know I'm a missionary, it was just different) it was so great!

I love you all so much and miss you tons!!! be safe feel better and have a great week!!

I Think I Caught Dad's Cold!

Hey...

This week was SUPER slow, we have caught a slow period in the work to where we are only teaching maybe 3 lessons a day. This week, however, was better for me - until Thursday. I think I caught dads cold ;-) hahah no it dropped from 80 degrees to 60 in just a day... but it's nice. also I went to the hospital...

I'm good. I told my companion that I just had a cold and it would go away in a few days, I got a blessing and I would be fine but she still took me there to a member, the doctor (member) said exactly what I did and she prescribed me stronger medicine. So that's good.

We have 4 good investigators right now B and C. They are legally married and have a baptism date for the 24th. I hope they can do everything in time for the baptism, one has a problem with the word of wisdom. So I pray we can help them be ready in time. The other is another couple but they aren't married A and E they enjoy church and have been working on the word of wisdom as well, the cool thing is that they moved and actually told us where they were moving to so we can continue to teach them. Which is different in the field.

I spoke (in sacrament a couple of weeks ago) on how missionary work can change lives. I talked about my mom and how grateful I am for missionary work and all that's its done for my family. I think it went well.. I'm glad it's over though!!

Music...I love the songs: Give It All To Him, Trust Him, Emma (it's a sad song but I like it), It's Not About You, and Embark (in Portuguese) I AM SO HAPPY that i have music because it has become my stress reliever ahah

This week was good but slow and I'm looking forward to a new week. I love what I'm doing and I'm so glad I have the opportunity to serve.

love you all <3

UGH!

This week has been super hard for me, I haven't been able to understand anything this week - it was like I was in the CTM the first day again, and I don't like that feeling! I just cried one day because I couldn't understand...

WE FINALLY HAVE POWER, oh and it's great, haha

We sat at a investigators house one night and listened to him sing church songs. It was good because I hadn't had music for 5 days. Music is my stress reliever! This week we marked 3 baptism dates for this month and 2 of our investigators are now legally married so now they can now be baptized!!! So that's great.. I am always singing in Portuguese or in English it's pretty fun! Oh this week I wrestled with a membro to do the dishes after almoço....I lost, hahah I love her (irma Margete) I have about 3 new bug bites every day so that's fun.

Something spiritual this week was I was reading my scriptures (in Portuguese) and I normally don't understand but I read one verse and I UNDERSTOOD it completely it was Alma 37:13 and it's a great scripture. I am so grateful for the Savior and the miracles that I see daily.

I love you all so much <3

Alma 37:13

O remember, remember, my son Helaman, how strict are the commandments of God. And he said: If ye will keep my commandments ye shall prosper in the land—but if ye keep not his commandments ye shall be cut off from his presence.

It's Official!!!

Where to start for this week - it's been Crazy....

1st thing - It's official, I'm Brazilian, we were shopping the other day and the lady asked me where I was from in Brazil because my accent was different

2nd I don't like transfers

3rd I am so grateful for power and energy

Poulsen and I were asked to teach an English class at the chapel so that's exciting, we did a deep clean last Monday (Poulsen and I) we had Uva Leite (grape milk) which is a drink I had...Our energy has been out for a week and it stinks. we lost all of our food and we have freezing water for showers.

For the language, some days it just comes out like normal I don't need to think about what the words are in English first so that's progress. All week we were all excited for TRANSFERS right; we thought we knew what was going to happen, but nope we didn't, sister Hernandez and I stayed in Rio Preto, and Poulsen and Nascimento left and that makes me super sad, like a lot. For selfish reasons I didn't want them to leave.

Right now we have 3 really strong investigators that are ready for baptism but can't be baptized because they are not legally married, and won't go get married. Besides that, we are doing a lot. we the less actives we spent all day yesterday walking around looking for them to confirm they still live there and to help them come back to church. oh yesterday we were also at the church for most of the day because we were having lunch with a family that was preparing for a ward activity so there were about 30 people at our lunch. it was fun.

mommy can you please send me conference talks in English and some work outs like 10 min ones? I would love The Fourth Missionary talk!

I love and miss you all and I love this opportunity that I have to serve!

I gave my first talk in Portuguese (in Sacrament)

This week was good and rough at the same time. We have had lots of rain and that makes it easier to get into the homes of people! haha! We have 3 investigators really progressing and have 3 baptism dates for this upcoming week.

We had meetings with Presidente Scholz this week and though it went well, we talked about the first 12 weeks how I'm feeling, if I see progress and the progress he sees. It was good. I got a blessing this past week as well because I am becoming more and more impatient with myself, in the language. it seems to be getting hard to understand. We did a quick splits again this week and I was with Sister Poulsen again, haha it was fun, and it gave me a heart attack at the same time. This time we stayed in my area and I was in charge of planning the day and who we would see and what we would teach and I about died!! It ended up being a good day but still scary. We got lost quite a bit... these roads are all the same and in circles.

Oh I did the most terrifying thing in my whole life yesterday...Can you guess what it was?

That's right I gave a talk in sacrament meeting in Portuguese!!!! Definitely a good experience though. I think it went well and it was a easy topic - How can missionary work change your life?
Well that's simple and I'm so grateful for missionary work, I told this story about the most amazing woman and how missionary work changed her life. I love you mommy and I'm glad missionary work can change our lives.

I love you all and I'm am so grateful for my call to serve the Lord.
